One month down

Well January is just about done. One month closer to bike season - yeah!

Busy month at work, we seem to be loaded down with bad guys. It doesn't matter how many you write up, bam. A pile more. This is not a good sign for our future. When did lying become a Canadian value. Now you are surprised when a person tells the truth.

Had a so so birthday on Saturday. Actually non-existent on partying level. I stayed in and napped a lot.

Friday though, a girl at work asked if I wanted a drink after work. I said she should come to my place. She did. I was off two hours before her. I cleaned!!!! A lot

She arrived, on time. I was just finishing dishes. Got her some wine, Red. Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile, it was good. I had iPod on shuffle, it was playing good tunes.

We talked and talked. I told her my son had introduced my to Snow Patrol and I have been caught up in them. She had never heard of them, not on CKUA's playlists. I played two videos on my iPad ; Chasing Cars and the new song.

After that I said she has to hear my stereo, it's good. I put This Movie is Broken in the Blu-ray and put stereo on THX.

The movie has a simple plot. Some people hanging out and then going to a Broken Social Scene concert in Toronto. The picture is incredible, the filmed with a Red Camera or something like that.

The movie was in the background. We spoke about failed online dating and other places to meet people.

The the movie sort of echoed us and the songs got interesting we watched it more than talking. It was my 4th time seeing it. Anne became a fan. We were using SoundHound app to get song info

We had more wine in movie. Actually finished two bottles, started on a third.

I asked if she had seen Diva. She had, we watched the aria and the piano portion. Then we put on Stop Making Sense. I think the Broken Social Scene movie is just about as good.

The night ended, three bottles down good times. Laughs.

Well it has been awhile, i was writing this on the iphone. But it used up all of its data plan and I couldn't let it connect to 3G. Well I could at 25 cents a megabyte. It is fixed now, my month ended and a new one started. Onavo is back on it. I took it off to let the visual voicemail work, but no-one i want to speak with leaves messages, they text. So i can dump the vm.

I have been running and lifting weights alot - jock time. I like it - i feel more confident. When I workout I actualy have more energy than when I say I am too tired to work out. (I scratch my head too!).

I got lucky on the weekend...thats a good thing This is not that kind of blog. But a guy can say, 'I got lucky on the weeknd' :)

I have been getting more confident cruising, which is good. The book is not doing so good. I really need to go to the city and hang out in a coffee shop. Why you ask, the people in there windup in the book. Remember that, the next time you are in there and people are typing away on a book, they are easy to spot. No text books, a lot of pondering.

Anyway - I posted on this - the ipad has been cured, I would up buying iMatch for all my 6600 songs - now I can down load them and make playlists. later

Made it through another week

Well caught some more bad guys. Maybe I can move into work and just work when I feel like it. Time flies.

Last night I came to the city and hung out with some friends. It was good. I am becoming more comfortable in my skin. So I cruise guys more. Wound up sleeping at a friends place last night. A little too drunk to drive. Got some. But it's complicated.

Today I am dressed in leather. Going to a drag show with the guy that game me chaps. Have to wear them someplace in the winter.

Writing is stalled but tomorrow

The newbies have taken over the gym. I hope they get er done and head back to couch soon. worst is they are getting there early and breaking machines.

I was thinking about the whole Xmas thing. It is a big power struggle. Especially when you make your family bigger I.e. Marriage. Soon there are discussions on where the big event will occur. Once that host/ess has won, they go in for the kill. Xmas Eve, cocktails and Boxing Day for leftovers and maybe another big event on New Years Day. But older kids won't partake, especially single ones.

I have made some LEO friends who are on the same Team. Good to have someone to bounce issues off. I hope the uncomfortable around me period ends soon. I can only read & write so much.

Later in the Day

Well, to continue with my first post, it was great coming out But.....I have now been alone since Christmas Day. My sister and I had a discussion about my brother, this is complicated. I am not sure that I want to get into it now. Basically my brother has been incommunicado sine 1992, he has been in touch again in the last year. But one line sentences. I don't even know where he is.

So I have been manically alone since Christmas Day, I am glad I worked last week. I did spend New Year's Eve at a party. But basically that is it. My son has not been in contact. He is 20, so you know how that is...I have parents?? Sister has even bailed on her Facebook obsession.

I am happy that the Christmas season is over. Next year I will be planning a trip. I'd rather be anywhere but here. I know I sound like Scrooge, but when you are single and everyone is making plans, plans which don't include you. You really don't want to be around.

And the gym was closed, that's where my happy place is. I couldn't go burn off the excess energy.

Today that changed, i had to do Spinning as all the machines were being used. But 20 minutes of that and lifting weights made me feel more centered, I have started writing my second book. It follows my first book, same characters. I did really well yesterday at a bar and a coffee shop, writing. Today, the only option was Tim Hortons, it is not conducive to writing, atmosphere of a bus station.

January 2nd 2012

Well that was a year to remember, 2011. I drove over 12000 kms in a trip. I went to Mardi Gras in New Orleans.  I had 6 weeks off work, so it was an adventure. I spent extra time in Minneapolis, Chicago, Memphis and Saint Petersburg.  I was going to go to Savannah, but it was the 17th of March and I had already been to the biggest party on the Continent.

Wen I returned, I picked up my motorcycle, a brand new 2009 Suzuki S83.  It has a lot of kms on it. The pic on my profile is from a trip to Glacier National Park in August.

Not much else to report for the rest of the year, oh except for I came out in December. I did it strategically and as fast as I could, so that I was the author and not gossip. My family took it ok, as did my son. Work people are supportive, the Fire Department scares me, but a senior member said it would not be a problem.  The funny thing, some people suspected. It was telling ones that should have suspected, and didn't have a clue.  Kudos to President Obama and various members of the US military for publicly coming out for pushing me to Tell
